Seoul Medical Group Healthcare App Design.
Seoul Medical Group is a network of independent community physicians who share a vision of improving the health and well-being of Korean American patients. The network of Primary Care Physicians and Specialist Providers promotes patient wellness while coordinating comprehensive care for patients.
App Design Motivation.
The main goal of designing this app was to provide an EASY-TO-USE user experience for elderly patients who may not be familiar with mobile apps. What these users seek are simple workflow and intuitive functions that require minimal clicks.
User Persona.
Age: 74 years
Family: Living with Wife
Work: Retired
He is an immigrant from Korea who moved to the United States with his wife 25 years ago.
They live in a suburban neighborhood with their son’s family, but he prefers to be independent and take care of himself as much as possible.
He speaks Korean and English fluently, but the complicated U.S. healthcare system makes it difficult for him to communicate with healthcare providers and explore the healthcare system.
He owns a smartphone but is not very familiar with using apps.

Family: Living with Daughter’s family
Work: Housewife
She is an immigrant from South Korea who moved to the United States with her Daughter's family 15 years ago.
They live in an apartment in a city with a large Korean community.
She speaks Korean fluently but has limited English proficiency, which makes it challenging for her to communicate with healthcare providers and navigate the healthcare system in the US.
She also struggles with farsightedness due to old age, which makes it difficult for her to read small fonts. She recently received a diagnosis of osteoporosis and is interested in learning more about senior healthcare options and resources in her area.

The purpose of an Easy Call button is to provide users with quick and easy access to a Primary Care Physician and Customer Service contacts directly.
Save Favorite Providers.
This can be particularly useful for seniors who may have multiple healthcare providers, and may have difficulty remembering their names, locations, and contact information.
Magnifying Glass Feature.
The magnifying glass feature can be an important accessibility tool to help users with visual impairments or challenges related to viewing small text or details on a screen.
Select Language Preference.
For seniors who may have limited English proficiency, providing a Korean language option can help them navigate the app and access important information more easily.
